Join festival founders Michael Moore, John Robert Williams, Doug Stanton, and the rest of our family of Friends for a potluck picnic exclusively for Friends of the Film Festival and their families. Celebrate pre-festival weekend with other Friends, games, live music, and fun for Friends of all ages. Music by Miriam Pico and Egon.

The annual Founders Party for festival sponsors features a sneak preview of one of the festival's best films at the Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay, followed by a reception at Ciccone Vineyards and Winery. Sponsors will enjoy exquisite edibles through the generosity of Grandview Catering, with additional food provided by Food for Thought and Grocer's Daughter Chocolates. Music by Jazz North and the Overtones.

Opening Ceremony

Be a part of the festival's official kick off ceremony and witness the presentation of the second annual Michigan Filmmaker Award to Oscar winner Christine Lahti outdoors in front of the State Theatre. Opening Night Party

Join your hosts Michael Moore, Terry George ("Hotel Rwanda"), Larry Charles ("Borat") as we personally welcome the filmmakers from around the world who are appearing at this year's festival. Be the first to "rub shoulders" with the people who make the movies and who have brought a bit of Hollywood to northern Michigan. This is will be a party the likes of which Traverse City has never seen. We'll transform the outdoor space on Park St., just around the corner from the State Theatre, into a summer garden for the evening. Dance to some great music, and enjoy fabulous local food provided by Poppycock's, The Betsie Bay Inn, Bluebird of Leland, Moomer's Homemade Ice Cream, Capone's Cafe, House of Doggs, American Spoon Foods, and more. Music by two of the best bands in the region, Neptune Quartet and Song of the Lakes. Tickets are available online. 2007 Friends of the Film Festival get 50 percent off one or two party tickets. Meet our distinguished film jury, the festival board of directors, festival founder Michael Moore, and filmmaker guests and recap in person the week's highlights and surprises - and put your two cents in for next year's festival! Enjoy a night of outstanding music, wine, beer, and phenomenal food from the area's top restaurants, including Trattoria Stella, Boathouse Restaurant, Patisserie Amie, R. Stanley's Diner and Cuppa Joe. Musical by Ron Getz Trio and Sol de Luna. Let's all give the Third Traverse City Film Festival the gala send-off it deserves! Tickets are available online.
